My Why

I never realized the importance of what it meant to hold onto the essence of who I really am, and remember the person I am, until I had my girls. We can very easily lose ourselves in the whirlwind that becomes our everyday when there is now someone who needs our full attention, love and care. But how do we accomplish this for ourselves? How do we keep our spark alive? I believe we have to simply immerse ourselves in the things we love to do for ourselves. And although spa days, baked brownies/cookies, cozy clothes movie days are it for me, so is photography. Photography keeps that spark of 'me' alive and thriving. It preserves my sense of self, my identity as an individual, and a personal level of joy that comes from accomplishing something I know - I - did. Knowing that I have the opportunity to freeze a hug, a loving glance, or laugh out loud moment for a second, and create a visual that you can look at and reminisce for years to come, is a rewarding feeling. Why did I choose the path of becoming a photographer? Capturing and collecting memories has always been a part of me and who I am, and I want nothing more than to share it with you.
